“Love” Scrapbook Layout

Good morning! I am happy to be back on the Silhouette blog with a fun and whimsical project using sketch pens!

Truth is, I often forget the possibilities that the sketch pen opens up for craft projects, but I used my sketch pen to create a base for this scrapbook page.

I simply added my black sketch pen into my CAMEO, chose the Cross Square Lace Design and let my machine do the work on some Adhesive Backed white cardstock.  I added some watercolor paint to the design, varying up the colors to co-ordinate with my daughter’s dress.

Once everything was dry, I trimmed the cardstock and then simply peeled the backing off and adhered it to some patterned paper from my stash. The adhesive backing helps keep the paper from warping…but I did add a little stitching around the edge just to be safe 🙂

A fun scripty title cut from more Adhesive Cardstock completes my page nicely!

Nicole N

My name is Nicole Nowosad and I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I am a working mom of three (2 boys 11, and 8 and our 5 yr old princess), and have been married for almost 15 years. I started scrapbooking about 15 years ago when I was planning our wedding. If I had to define my style, I would say it is evolving. I love to try different things on my projects, playing with shape and color – and oh I LOVE paper – it is my go to supply – I love to cut it up, punch it, and try new things/different ways to work it! I love color and a little sparkle too. I have been published several times in Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine, Scrapbook Trends, and Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.

  1. So pretty! I don’t scrapbook much anymore, but when I do it generally involves sketch pens. 🙂 I love your watercolor effect!

  2. As usual, this is beautiful Nicole. I adore the details you added with watercolors!

  3. Such a pretty page! Love the use of sketch pens for the background. Need to give that a try too!
