So lately I’ve been working on a laundry room makeover (that I hope to debut next week!) and I noticed one thing that my new space was seriously lacking was some cool laundry room wall art! There’s a big blank wall in the room and I just knew that I could class it up and make it fun with some help from my Silhouette CAMEO!
These pieces were super easy to make. I found two great laundry-themed designs in the Design Store and sized them to fit a couple of canvases I had lying around.
I just put my cut settings to ‘vinyl’ and changed my blade depth to match. Then it was an easy cut out onto some shiny gold vinyl! Ahh, so pretty!
For my canvases, I spray painted them with some black chalkboard paint. But don’t ‘season’ your chalkboard canvases before you put the vinyl on – otherwise it won’t stick!
So I just spray painted them black, waited for them to dry, smoothed my vinyl on using some transfer tape and my scraper, and then made the background more chalky. I did this by rubbing the side of the chalk lightly around the open black areas of the canvas and smoothed it out with my hand.
Et voila! Some pretty awesome (and cheeky!) laundry room art.
It looks great in my freshened up laundry space are fun conversation pieces for anyone who walks by! Can’t wait to show off the rest of my space once it’s all finished 🙂
