Folk Art Thanks Card

One thing I love about creating cards with my Silhouette CAMEO® is that you don’t need any other embellishments or tools to create something beautiful (cardstock or paper aside, of course). While I love lots of layers, watercolors and embellishments just as much as the next crafter, sometimes I love to let my cut files be the star of the show and create a card just using them.

Today I’m sharing a folk art-inspired card that just uses colorful cardstock and my CAMEO. It’s so easy to create and will leave your recipient wondering how you created it!

I used 5 colors of cardstock and ran each piece through my CAMEO, cutting out the same cut file five times. Then all I had to do was trim each piece and glue down to the main red piece and voila!

Definitely give this technique a try if you want to create a card where your cut files can do all the talking.

  1. Nice job! So cheery. Great example of how you can “dress up” a design. I need to remember that when I’m browsing the store.

  6. Your card is so cheerful! I love the bright colors.

  7. I would like to know the design number of this one. When I clock on Design Used, I get an 404 error message. I like it very much done in all the bright colors and would like to try it.
