Faux Leather Christmas Gift Cards

Faux Leather Christmas Gift Cards

It’s that time of the year to start thinking about cards & gifts (well, unless you’re already done!! … which I’m not!!)

Today I’m sharing with you these darling little gift card holders that I made using card stock and some Silhouette Faux Leather paper.  This is my first time using it and it’s so fun! I love the look of leather that it has.

I found these cute shapes in the Silhouette online store and decided that I’d like to make the insert part using the Silhouette Faux Leather paper to give a bit of texture to the cards.

So I simply cut the insert part of the designs from the natural and white faux leather paper.  Once they were cut I followed the instructions and on the packaging. I crinkled them a bit to & let them dry – as I wanted that rough, wrinkled look.

I also cut the snowman’s hat from some black faux leather and then added some embellishments.

Here’s a close-up shot. Isn’t he cute?

As you can see the insert is blank – you could attach your gift card here, adhere another piece of paper with a sentiment, etc (writing on the faux leather paper may be a bit difficult as it’s wrinkly and would be hard to write on).

The reindeer card is equally as cute, if not cuter!! (I think!)   The gold bell I cut from some Silhouette Printable Gold Foil.

I added some Silhouette Adhesive Backed card stock for the antlers, eyes, nose and green sash. I cut out the ears from the same natural faux leather paper.

And here’s a look at the 2 pieces …

Cari Locken

HI there! I’m Cari Locken from Langley, BC, Canada. I’m a wife and mother of 3 amazing kids! I have been crafting since I was a child and love the creative outlet that this hobby brings to me. My formal training is in the area of music as I have a Masters degree in Music and I am currently teaching Band (to Grades 5, 6 & &) as well as private piano lessons. However I always find time to dig out my scrappy supplies and work on a few projects here & there. I love creating scrapbook layouts, preserving the everyday moments and special memories of our family life as well as creating cards & home decor items . Other than scrapbooking I enjoy spending time watching my children play sports, reading, knitting, photography and cooking. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Silhouette Team!

  1. These are adorable, Cari! Awesome use of the faux leather paper. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m anxious to do so, especially after seeing these cute little critters.

  2. Very creative. I have all sorts of projects in mind for faux leather paper. Quite curious to play with it and see how it works on a variety of mixed-media projects.
