DIY Magical Unicorn Party!

Hi everyone! Kathi here, coming to you with a few whimsical tutorials. I know unicorns are all the rage right now, and why wouldn’t they be? They are totally awesome and if anyone tells you otherwise… well, then they’re not invited to the party!

So I thought maybe I can give you a little inspiration to jumpstart a fabulous and magical unicorn party.

Supplies Needed:

  • Silhouette CAMEO®
  • Cardstock (various colors)
  • Chipboard
  • Glue
  • Wooden Stick
  • Candy

Let’s begin with what you would give to your guests as soon as they walk in.

A Party Mask

Oh yes, you got that right: some pretty cool unicorn glasses by Studio Ilustrado Design ID #189499. Forget those boring party hats and get in style with these rad masks. This is pretty easy to assemble, making it perfect for a Silhouette beginner.

You can use any color cardstock you want. Whatever will match your party theme. But you know what’s great about having a unicorn party? You can use all the colors of the rainbow! Gold glitter is always a good idea, too.

Photo Booth Prop

Another inexpensive party activity: the photo booth. Let’s be real; you can make the background of your photo booth from anything that’s already in your home, such as bed sheets, tapestry, pallet wood, etc.

I love this unicorn design by Sarah Hurley Design ID #194260. The pointed arrow is perfect for a photo booth prop.

I want to make this prop a little more sturdy so I’m also cutting it out with chipboard and stretching it out as wide as I can to fit a 12 in. x 12 in. chipboard.

Remember, glitter is your friend… and for a unicorn party it’s your best friend. So don’t be afraid to sprinkle some on your props!

It’s also fun adding some words or quotes onto your unicorn prop to make it even more interesting. I think the simplest way to add wording is by using Silhouette Adhesive Cardstock, which happens to be on sale right now at the Silhouette America website. So stock up before they run out of inventory.

Then just glue a flat stick on the bottom of your prop so that it’s easier to hold.

Unicorn Favors

Then finally, of course we want to thank our guests for coming to the party. So we give love back with party favors. This adorable unicorn box by Daniela Moscone Design ID #202898 is the perfect little box for treats and candy.

Very easy to put together with a small amount of glue. Put some candy or party favor toys inside and your guests will love you!

With Silhouette CAMEO® anything is possible and creativity is limitless. You might say your CAMEO is your own special unicorn.

I hope your next party will be surrounded with unicorns and rainbows, and I hope you invite me!

  1. So cute <3
    Thank you so much

  2. This looks so beautiful! I love the magical unicorn theme. It’s not something that you see everyday, that’s for sure. Thank you for sharing these ideas with us!

  3. I was wondering if yoy think I could make the unicorn glasses with the cricut explore was just wondering how you made them and what materials you used thank you

    1. Tammy, all the supplies are listed at the beginning of the post. I checked and these particular cutting files do have an SVG purchase option, so if you can cut external SVGs with your Cricut Explore then you can purchase these designs (linked at the bottom of the post) as an SVG option. You’ll need to set up a Silhouette account, and make sure to check the box for purchasing the SVG add-on before checking out. Once you’ve checked out, you can download those SVG files by going to your account in the Silhouette Design Store (click on your name in the upper right corner). Go to My Download History, find the batch of files you purchased, then check the boxes to download those SVGs and then they will download to your computer. Good luck!
