Valentine’s Day Pillow

I have been wanting to make a pillow like this for Valentine’s Day. Supplies Needed: Silhouette CAMEO® or Silhouette Portrait® or Silhouette Curio™ Silhouette Cutting Mat Silhouette Fabric Blade Silhouette Studio® Pillow cover (I used the VIGDIS linen cover from IKEA.) ½ Yard Linen Fabric…

Unique Father’s Day Gift: Make A Custom Stamped Dopp Kit

Making custom stamped fabric is a fun way to personalize a gift for your favorite guy this Father’s Day. My husband is a beekeeper so I decided that a honeycomb design would be fitting, but the possibilities are endless. I also considered other motifs like anchors or mountains or even a monogram–all of them would be really nice for this project as well. Fill the dopp kit with a few of his favorites, like aftershave, and you have a unique and thoughtful gift this Father’s Day. This tutorial walks you through sewing your own bag, but you could always purchase…

Fabric Home Decor

I don’t know about you, but I look forward to Tuesdays. What’s not to love about getting a brand new design each week for free?! This week I’m combining three of my favorite things: fabric, my CAMEO, and the free design of the week to make this fabric banner. If you’ve ever wondered how to cut fabric with your Portrait, CAMEO, or Curio you’ll want to follow along.   What you’ll need: fabric banner fabric fabric blade clean cut fusible fabric stabilizer scissors   Step One Cut a piece of stabilizer that’s larger than the design and a piece of…

Fabric PixScan Ornament

This is another fun way to use your PixScan™ mat. I made a fabric ornament and wanted to cut my pieces from a certain part of a scrap of fabric. The PixScan™ mat allowed me to do exactly that. I found this great wise men design and phrase for my ornament, so I resized everything to fit the front and back of two 4-inch circles. I have had this small scrap of fabric in my stash for a while and wanted my wise men to have these colors. The best way to choose exactly which part of the design…

Personalized Pillow Covers are such fun way to personalize home decor and create individual style in a space. There are so many possibilities using the CAMEO or Portrait to create exactly what you want at a price that can’t be beat. Appliqued Patriotic Tee

Looking for a way to share your love of all things red, white, and blue? This appliqued t-shirt would be lovely for the 4th of July, but can be worn anytime you’re feeling patriotic.   To create the appliqué I used Silhouette’s cut and sew fusible fabric stabilizer and a printed bandana. When you don’t need a lot of fabric, bandanas are a great choice. They’re inexpensive, come in a variety of patterns, and you don’t have to wait in the long lines at the fabric counter! I’ll even have enough fabric leftover to make a few more appliqued…

Umbrella Mobile

For this project, I used my CAMEO to make a fun mobile to celebrate spring. (It would also make a great baby gift.) I covered this umbrella shape (enlarged to the max on my 12” mat) with pretty striped fabric to give it a nice texture but remain stiff. I cut the umbrella once out of pattern paper, then attached a 12” square of sewable fabric interfacing to a 12” square of cotton fabric and cut the umbrella shape once more from the fabric. Then it was easy to iron the fabric directly to the identical paper base…

Silver Foil Tag Embellishments

I’ve been wanting to cut this adorable 3D mason jar design out since it was added to the store this past summer, but just never had a chance.  When I was looking for a way to make someone a unique Valentine’s Day gift this week, though, it seemed the perfect choice.  Add a little custom tag and some cute labels to your candy kisses and you’ve got an memorable gift for an extra special someone.     The jar body is constructed of white adhesive cardstock and acetate and full instructions for assembly can be found on the designer’s website here.  Normally, I…
