Santa Claus Vinyl Flower Pots

I love sprucing up things that are already in my home for the holidays. The Silhouette is a great way to do this – by adding vinyl and other small details to our existing decor.

I created these whimsical Santa Claus belts from black and gold adhesive vinyl. I simply created a larger version of the belt and buckle from a design in the Silhouette Design Store. The vinyl was quick to cut and apply. And the addition makes my red hanging pots (made from large tin cans) extra festive for the holiday season.

I filled the cans with fresh greenery and added a wooden arrow I painted turquoise and then embellished with this week’s free shape  in white vinyl. The North Pole sign is the perfect addition to the Santa flower pot.

I’m so happy with how this display turned out. It is a much better option than leaving the cans empty all winter. And the best part – when the season is over, I can simply remove the vinyl and I have another blank slate.

I made all seven of our hanging pots into little Santa Clauses. It’s the perfect amount of Christmas cheer on our deck.

  1. Kim, what a nice holiday touch your cans add to your deck. They really go with your barn/quilt designs you did. Is that a Christmas Tree farm I see in the background?
    Merry Christmas!!!

    1. It does sort of look like a tree farm. We actually just have those trees planted on our property.

  2. Very cute idea! Thank you for sharing!

  3. Love your Santa pots
