Animal Blocks

My collection of animal shapes has been growing like crazy lately. Whenever I see one I like I just have to snatch it up! It’s partially because they’re so toddler friendly. One of my son’s most recent interests is learning all about animals. I created these animal blocks for him because I thought they’d be a fun way to encourage his curiosity.

I printed the squares on adhesive cardstock which made it a breeze to adhere to the blocks. Then I brushed some Mod Podge on the top to seal them. After letting them dry they were ready to be played with.

Here are a few different ways we’ve played with these blocks:

  • match the correct head to the correct body and name the animal
  • practice animal sounds
  • spell out the animal’s name
  • talk about different animal body parts

Of course my silly boy’s favorite thing to do is create silly animals.

Hi there, I’m Analisa! I love to travel and explore new places along with my husband and son. When we’re not on the go I’m happily crafting. I’ve been a crafter for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I collected every craft kit I could get my hands on. Not much has changed. I love my Silhouette because it such a versatile instrument for creating. I can stencil fabric with one project, then create stickers for my son with the next. I love experimenting with all it can do.
