Tutorial | DIY Monogram Napkins

Hello again Silhouette friends! Today, I’m sharing a simple DIY Monogram Napkin that is made so much easier with the Reusable Stencil Material, not only because you’re using the same design several times but also because its thickness makes the detailed Leaf Garland Frame so much easier to work with. I actually gifted these to my Mother-in-Law back on Mother’s Day. They make a really simple and sweet handmade gift idea.

What You’ll Need To Make Your Own:

  • A set of plain cloth napkins (any craft store should have these)
  • Reuseable Stencil Material
  • Silhouette Fabric Ink, Black
  • Silhouette Hook Tool
  • Small Paint brush or spouncer
  • Iron and pressing cloth

Start by designing a size-appropriate monogram in the Silhouette software. Mine was about 3 inches square.

Cut the design using the Stencil Material, weed with the hook tool, and then apply the stencil to one corner of a napkin.

Lightly dab on paint to reduce the chance of any bleeding.

Carefully remove stencil while paint is still wet. Wash stencil and pat dry so you can reuse it and repeat for remaining napkins. When dry, I like to heat set the paint with the dry iron on the cotton setting using a pressing cloth.

That’s it! Happy crafting!

  5. For those with basic software, we can’t design the wreath for example, how do we get hold of this wreath design please? Perhaps you can put a link to something like this in the SOL store?

    1. At the bottom of each blog post you can find links to each of the shapes used to create the projects 🙂
