Wedding Mini Album

Hi Silhouette friends!

Many of you may know that my son got married two months ago.  I feel like I’ve been in “wedding mode” for the past year so when it came to this week’s project, a wedding mini album was on my mind!  When I received Silhouette’s brand new vellum in the mail, it fit perfectly into my plan!  Yes!

I used the vellum to cut out a pretty layered flower for the front of my album.  I love how you can gently curl the edges of vellum to give a beautiful 3d effect.  To do this, I ran the vellum petals between my scissor blade and my thumb, just like you would to curl a ribbon.

I love the weight of Silhouette’s vellum and it cuts beautifully in the machine.  Our software will soon be updated with cut settings for vellum so be on the look out for that!

Although I haven’t added pictures or embellishments yet, I also wanted to show you the mix of vellum envelopes and card stock pages I included in my album.  I love the interactive use of library pockets in mini albums, and the vellum is fun because you’ll be able to see the contents inside.

I can’t wait to see all of the wonderful projects everyone makes with this new vellum!  Look for it to be available soon!

  4. Wow. This is gorgeous and so elegant. I love the papers you chose, and the way you used the pocket cards as pages. I think using vellum for those is genius.

  5. Honestly, this is one of the most beautiful mini albums I’ve ever seen, Traci!

  6. Very pretty!

    1. 🙂 Thanks!

  7. I would also like to make this. I would download the shapes from the on-line store if there were step by step instructions. Also explain how to use the monogram shape to change the letters in the monogram. Thank you.

    1. For the monogram, just ungroup the individual letters, and then delete the ones you don’t need. Then go back and line up the ones you do want with the triangles. Placement can be tricky, but I use the grid lines on the software mat to help get things straight. Hope this helps!

  8. Love this, perfect wedding mini!!!!

    1. Thanks Gina!!

  9. I’m a newbie… what do you use to glue vellum? Does the glue show through?

    1. Hi Dee — I use tiny clear glue dots and hide them behind other elements. Tombow also used to make a pretty good Vellum adhesive — they may still make it but I haven’t checked recently.

  10. Beautiful. Thanks for giving me inspiration.

    1. You’re so welcome Joan — glad you like the album — thanks!

  11. Is there a handbook available how to use the cameo silhouette in full with all functions. Please help
