Fabric Leaf Place Card

Nothing brings family together as well as food does! I love to celebrate Thanksgiving and have always pictured a beautifully decorated Thanksgiving table. Truth be told, we eat Thanksgiving dinner on plastic plates. Plastic plates have their perks but they are definitely lacking in the beauty department. Well this girl can dream and I dreamed of clean white plates with mini pumpkins resting on top of them. The pumpkins had a beautiful fabric leaf on them. That is when I put on the mental brakes in my head. I was not going to cut out a million fabric leaves.

Silhouette Fabric Leaf

Enter Silhouette’s Clean Cut Fabric Interfacing. I had never used this product before but let me tell you, it was love at first iron.

I started by using the 3D Pumpkin Favor Basket shape. I only wanted to use the leaf portion so I ungrouped and deleted everything except for the leaf with the hole punched in it. Only problem was I didn’t want the hole in the leaf. I clicked the edit points button and deleted the circle inside the leaf.

I followed the directions for the interfacing and the leaf cut out perfectly! Who knew that a little fabric leaf could make me so happy. I hot glued the leaf to the pumpkin and added a small white pennant tag to act as the place card.

The fabric leaf adds the the perfect touch to the place setting. It is more fancy than just a patterned cardstock which really makes it feel special. It is little details like that that really make a dinner party memorable.
