Print & Foil

Print & Foil Artwork

Hi there! Kelly here again to show you a new technique for adding foil to your projects. You’ve heard of Print & Cut, and perhaps Print & Emboss, but have you heard of Print & Foil? Probably not, because I just made it up! This tutorial uses Silhouette’s Foil Transfer Sheets to highlight only parts of a printed image using registration marks. It works best with Silhouette Curio™, so that’s what I’ll use in this tutorial. Supplies Needed: Silhouette Curio™ Silhouette Foil Transfer Sheets – Silver Large Curio base (if making a 5 in. x 7 in. print or larger)…

How to Create Perfect Chalkboards for Every Season

I love using my Silhouette CAMEO® to spruce up the decor in my home. My home is decorated in a farmhouse/flea-market style, and I love hunting for treasures at our local antique flea market every month. One of my favorite things to collect are chalkboards. As much as I think I have decent handwriting, I needed a better solution for writing words on my chalkboards. Fortunately, my Silhouette machine gives me the extra help. I have been making stencils for my chalkboards for a few months now, and the stencils help the chalkboards look so much better than if I…

Christmas Tree Gift Box

I downloaded this cute Christmas Tree shape from Silhouette today and played around with a few ideas on how to use it. Since I needed a couple of small gift boxes, I thought using it for this Christmas tree gift box would be a perfect DIY to share with you. You can use bigger boxes in terms of size, and you can use silver and gold foil to add a little shine too. I kept my boxes simple and small, but I’d love to hear how you made yours. Because my project was small, I decided to use my Curio, but you…

Holiday Coasters and Stir Sticks

The holidays are here, and that means it’s time to bring on the party accessories. We have a hot cocoa station in our household, and pulling that out has quickly become a tradition for us. My girls love to curl up with a warm blanket and a good book by the Christmas tree. It’s our favorite place to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa with all the trimmings! That’s what inspired me with the idea to decorate stir sticks and coasters. I wanted something festive but also useful, so these two items were just the ticket! They would make a…

They are from Brazil and currently live in the Brazilian countryside in a little town called Cerquilho. The Studio Ilustrado line has designs for nearly every occasion. Mauro says his inspiration can come from anything in his daily life. “I get hit with inspiration when I’m walking around my town, when I’m traveling, or even when I’m watching a movie.” Starting Studio Ilustrado Before Studio Ilustrado got its…

Round Santa Holiday Invite

We can all agree that the holidays are an extremely busy time of year. But it’s also amazing to spend with family, coworkers, neighbors, and friends. I seem to have at least a few parties and get-togethers to attend in December. Crazy, I know! With that being said, I try to host my own small get-togethers. Every year, I try to keep the theme simple and fun! This year’s invite was a round invite and inspired by Santa’s hat. The front says, “Santa, Define Naughty…” Everyone is sure to get a good laugh out of that! These invites are not…
