Vinyl Table Art

Today I’m excited to be sharing my first project using my new Silhouette Curio. As a first time user, I was nervous about the learning curve with a new machine. Can I just say that my fears were unfounded? Not only are there various video tutorials on the Silhouette blog to get your started, but after I plugged in my machine and designed my stippled project in the software, it told me exactly what mats I needed to use, what cut settings to use, and even which tool per color to place my sketch pens.Thankful and Blessed Art1 by Blooming Homestead for Silhouette America

To create this art, I used the stippling feature and sketch pens in copper and orange. The stippling added little shadows and highlights that created depth to my word art. After completing the stippling, I then replaced the pens with a blade and cut out my design on the cutting mat.Thankful and Blessed Art by Blooming Homestead for Silhouette America

After weeding out the excess card stock, I applied the design to wood paper. There are so many new and exciting ways to create using the Curio and I am bursting with excitement at all the possibilities.Thankful and Blessed Art1 by Blooming Homestead for Silhouette America1

Marie Chorak

Hello! I am Marie from Blooming Homestead and I have a passion for all things crafty, this includes home decorating, organization, digital design, DIY, and cooking yummy comfort food! As a recent first time home buyer, I enjoy making our house into a home while sticking to a budget (gotta love those student loans!) This usually requires me to think outside the box and get creative. I love sharing my tutorials and projects in hopes that I can inspire others. When I am not crafting, I like to read, shop, watch movies, and visit with family & friends. Most importantly, I love spending time with my husband of 12 years and our two children who keep us on our toes.

  1. I hadn’t thought of using stippling as accents on lettering. Clever you!
