Child’s Art Apron

Child’s Art Apron

Getting crafty with kids is such a blast! The only part I’m not crazy about is the cleanup. My son gets really into it so we always end up with a mess on his clothes. I picked up this plain child sized apron when I was browsing the aisles of the craft store. With some blue heat transfer material and printable heat transfer material I was able to transform it into a special apron just for our craft time.

I had blue smooth heat transfer material on hand so I cut the “go make stuff” phrase out of that first. Then I arranged the rest of my designs on the page. Don’t forget to mirror your designs when you’re working with the printable heat transfer material. Did you know that you don’t have to use the whole sheet at once just because you’re printing with registration marks? Simply raise the bottom inset and then save the rest of your material for later.

After weeding out the designs with my hook I ironed on the blue heat transfer material. Then I arranged the rest of the designs on the apron and carefully ironed those down.

Those smiling art supply designs are just too cute! My son gets excited the second he sees me pull out his special apron. Now we’re all set for more crafty fun!

Childs Art Apron by Analisa Murenin for Silhouette

Hi there, I’m Analisa! I love to travel and explore new places along with my husband and son. When we’re not on the go I’m happily crafting. I’ve been a crafter for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I collected every craft kit I could get my hands on. Not much has changed. I love my Silhouette because it such a versatile instrument for creating. I can stencil fabric with one project, then create stickers for my son with the next. I love experimenting with all it can do.

  1. That is adorable Analisa!

  2. So much fun! We’ve decorated aprons, but nothing that cute. We’ll have to get out the heat transfer next time. 🙂

  3. Thanks ladies!

  4. Super Cute!! Love the adorable smiling art supplies. What did you print those out on? Did you use the heat transfer to adhere those to the apron as well?
