How To Use PixScan™ To Decorate Handmade Cards

Did you know you can use PixScan™ to decorate handmade cards? Today, I’m going to tell you how you can “fussy-cut” patterned paper without even having to lift your detail scissors. To be honest, I’ve had a PixScan™ mat since last Christmas when I received it with the CAMEO, but I had never tried it out. The great thing is the same PixScan™ mat that works with the previous model of the CAMEO will also work with the CAMEO 3—no need to purchase a new one. How cool is that? Want to see how it works? Let’s go! Supplies needed: The…

Fabric PixScan Ornament

This is another fun way to use your PixScan™ mat. I made a fabric ornament and wanted to cut my pieces from a certain part of a scrap of fabric. The PixScan™ mat allowed me to do exactly that. I found this great wise men design and phrase for my ornament, so I resized everything to fit the front and back of two 4-inch circles. I have had this small scrap of fabric in my stash for a while and wanted my wise men to have these colors. The best way to choose exactly which part of the design…

Wooden Photo Ornament

My husband and I take a lot of pictures. Our walls can only hold so many picture frames, so I try to find other creative ways to display them. I wanted to do something special with this picture of my little guy playing in the snow. By putting it on a blank wooden ornament, I’ll be reminded of that memory every year while it hangs on our Christmas tree.         The PixScan™ mat makes projects like this so easy. I just placed the ornament on the PixScan™ mat and took a picture with my phone.    …

Camera Pop-Up Card

Looking for an eye-catching grandparents’ card? I made these camera pop-up cards for my parents with a picture of their grandkids inside as a surprise.   The designer has an assembly video tutorial {here} for assembling this card. If you have adhesive cardstock, it’s nice to cut the smaller pieces from that and save yourself some gluing. Here’s a quick glimpse of which pieces you would cut from adhesive cardstock and which pieces you would cut from regular cardstock:       To crop my picture perfectly for the “photo” portion of the card, I turned to my…
