So, until she can get there, I will just have to bring it to her! Follow along to see how to make this cool etched glass NYC skyline. 🙂   You Will Need: Silhouette CAMEO®…

Stenciled Sunglasses Case

I sewed up a fabric case for my sunglasses because I was tired of them floating around in my purse. Of course I had to embellish it so I grabbed a roll of stencil vinyl and fabric ink for a quick stenciling project.   I cut the stencil vinyl, weeded the design, and then placed it on the case. When working with stencil vinyl don’t be too quick to throw away the white backing that’s left when you remove the vinyl. If you place it under your stencil it works wonders at keeping fabric ink from seeping through.    …

Home Sweet Home Canvas Art | Erica Sooter for Silhouette

Home Sweet Home Canvas Art

Being a homeowner the past couple years has had it’s challenges but for the most part it has been the most amazing experience. It’s so relaxing and encouraging to be able to come home after a long day to a space that’s all our own where we can relax and do whatever tickles our fancy. I know home sweet home is a bit of a cliche saying, but it really is true for us. Our house has been one of the biggest blessings to us in the past couple years and we love sharing our space with others….

3D Patriotic Sign

Do you decorate for the 4th of July? I do!  I wanted to create a large 3d star with my Silhouette CAMEO. I found the perfect design in the design store, sized it in the software, cut it with some pretty patriotic paper, and then assembled it. These are so easy to assemble, just fold on the perforated line and attach using glue until you complete your lovely 3-D Star. You can also create whatever size of star you want by adjusting the design in the Silhouette Studio.   I decided to mount my star on a whitewashed plaque with…

Family Name Wall Sign

Ever since getting married I’ve been obsessed with finding new ways to show my love for my new last name and the fact that my husband and I are now our own family unit. When I married my husband, I moved up in the alphabet from a ‘W’ last name to an ‘S’ last name and now we’ve got ‘S’ monograms all over the house! I wanted to mix it up a bit though, so I decided to make a cute family established wall sign with our last name and the year of our marriage. It’s super cute and…

Stenciled Chalk Alphabet Decor

Often people are intimidated by the chalkboard trend because they don’t believe their free-hand penmanship is up to par. Well, worry not Silhouette lovers…you can legibly chalk this alphabet with the use of Stencil Vinyl and a chalk marker!     The Stencil Vinyl is wonderful. The transfer material it comes with helps transfer even the most detailed designs in one piece. Once your cut design is in place on your chalkboard, it’s simply a matter of “coloring in” the letters one by one with a chalk marker. Peel it off and remove the extra bits with your Hook Tool, and…
