Sketch Pens Are Curio’s Best Friend—Here’s Why

The fall colors that make this project pop comes from the sketched stem detailing.  The leaves are all made out of neutral colored paper, so the variety of color options in the Sketch Pen Starter Kit were perfect for this project Because it’s still technically fall, right? (But seriously. Can we talk about how fast this year has gone? Next time I talk to you, the city will be covered in snow and I’ll be burrowed under blankets for eternity.) BUT, for now, we’ll focus on stuffing the turkey, stuffing our faces, and crafting through the holidays to keep ourselves sane. Have You Ever…

Sketched Table Art

Oh how I love fall and coming together with those we love & cherish. There are so many things to be thankful not just at this time of the year but all year long. With that being said, it’s is at this time of the year that we think of what we are grateful for.  I live in Canada so we’ve already celebrated our Thanksgiving but I know that many of my US friends are getting ready in anticipation of this festive time. So I decided to create a sign/layout that can be displayed on a coffee table, mantle or…

Vinyl Table Art

Today I’m excited to be sharing my first project using my new Silhouette Curio. As a first time user, I was nervous about the learning curve with a new machine. Can I just say that my fears were unfounded? Not only are there various video tutorials on the Silhouette blog to get your started, but after I plugged in my machine and designed my stippled project in the software, it told me exactly what mats I needed to use, what cut settings to use, and even which tool per color to place my sketch pens.   To create this art, I…

Sketched Coasters

One of the main reasons I was drawn to Curio is its 5mm clearance. It gives you so many options! I may or may not have browsed the craft store with a ruler looking for new materials to craft on. With so many creative possibilities, the wood crafts aisle drew me in. These blank wooden disks ended up being perfect for my cozy coasters.   I liked the cup design but wanted to fill it in more with the sketch pens. I ended up using the embossing feature to my advantage by applying a tightly spaced concentric effect to the…

Multicolor Sketched Scrapbook Layout

Well I can now finally say that I’ve tried the new Curio! That’s right. I finally had a chance to open up the box and play with this fun new machine!  I must admit that I was intimidated at first because I was worried about learning a new machine. But it is honestly very easy to use. I thought I’d try an easier project for my first use of the Curio. So I created a layout using the sketch pens.  I was super excited at the thought of being able to use 2 sketch pens. What a great idea!!…
