Fabric Gift Boxes

Printable Cotton Canvas is going to become your new favorite Silhouette material to play with. What’s so awesome about it is that you can print full patterns on it to give a textured element to a project. I used the gift-box shape and shrunk it down, cut it out in cardstock, then cut it in the canvas and stuck the two materials together to make these cute boxes that can be used as gift boxes or storage for your little bits of craft supplies. Before we start the project, a couple of notes: Pay close attention to how you feed the canvas sheet into your printer….

The Silhouette Tool Kit

Hello everyone!  Carrie here and I’m going to demonstrate how to use the versatile tool kit for your projects. I chose to make a 3-D picture frame featuring my two adorable boys. Fun Fact: I just had my second son on March 19 so I’m a sleep-deprived “mombie” at the moment.  The hospital has a photographer come around to take pictures in your hospital room and our photographer captured an amazing shot of one of the first times the boys met.  I knew I wanted to feature this picture in my home—especially because I recently had a spot open up on my…

Christmas Tree Gift Bags

It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas. Especially if you’re like me and enjoy putting a handmade touch on everything you gift. Canvas Print & Frame

This printable quote is both beautiful and easy to create with any Silhouette machine. The free design comes in both 8 x 10” and 5 x 7”. I cut the 5 x 7” design with my Curio on its standard base. To make a print & cut with the 5 x 7” design on a Curio, simply move the design over to the workspace, rotate it 90 degrees, and set the following settings in your Design Page Settings Window: Page Size = Width 8.5”, Height 6.0” (to represent paper that will cover your entire standard Curio cutting mat). Landscape orientation…

First Year Photo Banner – Cotton Canvas

Whether you’re throwing a first birthday, graduation, or any other type of party – what better way to visually recap on the past year for your celebration than with a photo banner? For this project, I created a 12 pennant banner using the Echo Park Pennant Banner (Design ID #43106) allowing a spot for a photo from each month for the past year. Specifically, for this party, it’s from birth through little Gianna’s first birthday.   After pulling each image into it’s given pennant, I printed them on Silhouette’s Printable Cotton Canvas and cut it out with my CAMEO using a…

Cotton Canvas Gift Wrap

Ah, nothing makes my heart single like a perfectly wrapped little package. If I’m being honest, I probably spend more time and energy wrapping gifts, than buying the actual item. Priorities. With wedding season upon us, among the millions of birthdays being celebrated on the daily, using your Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait makes it that much easier to take your package wrapping to the next level.     For this little diddy, I cut an ornate decorative border shape out of Silhouette’s Printable Cotton Canvas. I LOVE how the canvas texture looks on the kraft package wrap. I topped…

Fishy Father’s Day Card

It’s Kalyn here with a new card project to share! Father’s Day is coming up in just a matter of weeks, so I thought it was time to get some ideas cooking. As soon as I saw the Fish Duo cut file, I was immediately inspired to create something for my dad. We had a koi fish pond growing up and these just reminded me of feeding the fish with my dad on warm summer evenings.     I first took my watercolor set and created some simply color washes on watercolor paper. Then I ran the paper strips through…

Canvas Bookmark

All of the gifts I gave while growing up were handmade. Thinking back to years of handmade Mother’s Day gifts I remembered lots of bookmarks. They were the perfect gift for an avid reader like my mom. If you’re searching for a giftable Mother’s Day kids craft you’ll love this canvas bookmark. It is easy to prep and can be created by children of varying ages and abilities. To make these canvas bookmarks you’ll need: Silhouette’s printable cotton canvas Fabric markers or crayons Ribbon Your printer To get started, open both the bookmark and the mom design and…
