Six Ways To Add More Fun To Your Summer Gatherings

Hello, BBQs. Welcome back, pool parties. Hey there, sipping cocktails on the patio. My favorite season is finally upon us, and I’m getting excited for all of the outdoor activities and parties that are about to commence. To kick off the celebrations, I’ve gathered six of my favorite party projects for you to try this summer. So, put on your party hat, pull out your Silhouette machines, and let’s get this party started!

Refreshing Lemonade Stand

What better way to quench your summer thirst than with a tall glass of lemonade? I mean c’mon, is this not the cutest lemonade stand you’ve ever seen? Our fellow Design Team member, Aki Altuna, showed us how to put together this refreshing lemonade stand, without having to pick up any power tools. Placing this refreshment stand at your next BBQ or pool party will leave your younger guests smiling with excitement and your older invitees nostalgic.

Citrus-Painted Napkins

When I think about summer, I think about the heat of the sun; the cold, crisp drinks; and the gathering of all my favorite people. This year, I’ve decided to step up my BBQ game with these fresh-squeezed DIY napkins. Using Silhouette Fabric Ink gives them a high-end finish that will leave your guests believing that you bought them, unless of course they know you’re a hardcore DIYer like me. Learn how to create these juicy citrus napkins on my blog here.

Monogrammed Citrus Coasters

Let’s add on to this refreshing citrus BBQ theme with an easy-to-make monogrammed coaster. A former Design Team member, Aimee Broussard, picked up these fruity coasters and, with a simple idea, transformed them into the perfect summer, drink-sippin’, custom coasters. What better way to not only keep track of your beverage but also have your guests leave with a personalized gift? To find out how easy it was to make these fruity custom coasters, check out the tutorial here.

Mermaid-Stamped Party Cups

With everyone’s newfound obsession with #mermaidhair, it’s only fitting to make sure we include a little whimsical ocean life into our summer party decorations. Make these quick and simple drink cups with your Silhouette Mint™. Yes, you heard that right, you can stamp on paper cups! Add a bit of shimmer to your scales by using a few different colors; blending them is encouraged. So, show your mermaid style with these “Mermaid Hair Don’t Care” party cups found swimming on my blog here.

Drink Umbrellas

I’m a big advocate of decorations that also serve a practical use. Our fellow Design Team member, Christine Lustig, has created these adorable and functional drink umbrellas that will keep your party beverage fancy and bug free! Since they are so simple, I repeat, so simple to make, you can whip these out in no time, leaving you more time to enjoy your company. Grab some colorful paper straws, cardstock, and head over to Christine’s blog to adorn your drinks this summer.

Painted Party Spoons

I can’t resist singing “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream” every time I see these spoons! With a little help from Silhouette Stencil Vinyl, you can add the perfect amount of detail to your wooden utensils, because they’re all the rage these days! Former Design Team member, Brie Zacher, shares an easy-to-follow tutorial here to help bring detail to your ice-cream party this summer.

Now that you have all your summer party and BBQ decorations made, it’s time to relax and have some fun. As you can see, I’m completely committed to fruit-filled gatherings this year.
