Frosted Glass Winter Luminaries

Today I am going to show you how I created these glowing winter luminaries, sure to brighten up your winter decor!

What I love about these luminaries is that they are so versatile. You can use any design to match your personal decor style. Rustic, modern, traditional, this is the perfect quick and easy project that will leave you with beautiful decor to use for years to come.

Step One: Setup Design In Silhouette Studio®

Begin by opening Silhouette Studio®.

In the Design Page Settings window select Letter and Cutting Mat: None.

Open your designs from your library.

I used:

DEER SNOW FLOURISH Design ID # 164734

WINTER SNOWFLAKE DEER Design ID # 162724

SNOWFLAKES Design ID # 68560

Arrange your designs on the page.

Step Two: Fill Your Jars

Fill your jars with Epsom salt and the battery operated candles.

Add some clear/silver glitter in with your Epsom salt snow for a little extra sparkle!

Step Three: Cut And Weed

blog-5

Insert frosted vinyl into your Silhouette CAMEO® cutting machine with the backing side facing down.

Use the “Silhouette Vinyl” setting in the Cut Settings window. Set your blade appropriately.

Send your design to your Silhouette CAMEO® to begin cutting.

Once the cutting is finished, leave the protective backing in place and peel away the excess vinyl that is not a part of the design. The Silhouette hook tool works wonders to help with the weeding!

Step Four: Apply Your Design

Make sure to clean and dry the surface of the glass before applying your design.

Remove transfer paper liner, place transfer paper on the vinyl design and smooth by pressing and dragging with your Silhouette scraper tool.

Remove the backing from the vinyl, exposing the adhesive and leaving the transfer paper in place.

Arrange your design on your glass jar, press down firmly with a flat-edged tool (such as a Silhouette scraper) over the entire design to affix and remove any air bubbles.

Peel away the transfer paper.

Turn on your candles and you have beautiful glowing jars perfect for decking your halls! 😉

How are you going to light up this holiday season?

  2. Did you choose the ratchet blade over the automatic blade for a reason? New to the Cameo and trying to learn all I can
