How many of you love going to stores and just bee-lining to the Christmas decor? How many of you think the ornaments being sold are too expensive? (I mean, the holidays are tough already to be breaking the bank, am I right?) And finally, how many of you can’t find ornaments that fit your style?
Well, I’m going to show you a few ornaments I made with the Silhouette CAMEO® 3 and the Silhouette Curio™, which definitely fit my modern bohemian style.
Vellum And Cardstock Feather Ornaments
How cute are these feathers? I picked up this printed vellum at a local craft store because it looked like a feather of some exotic bird.
For these feather ornaments I used Design ID #47866, printed vellum, Silhouette Adhesive Cardstock in white, and my new and amazing Silhouette CAMEO® 3. First I cut the base/outline of the feather with the vellum and then I placed the detailed cut cardstock on the top. Super easy—those are 5 minute ornaments right there!
Merry Vibes 3D Star Ornaments
As you can see, with one star I used a sketch pen to make it more personalized, and to the other star I glued Epsom salt to look like snow. Although these are ornaments, I believe they would make a great garland as well. Maybe I’ll make that next year.
You can make this star with Design ID #104791. And you can adjust the design to make them different sizes.
Wild & Free Sketch and Wood Ornaments
For these wooden ornaments, I used my Silhouette Curio™.
I took a thick piece of plywood and measured it to the size of my cutting mat. Remember, the Curio won’t cut plywood, but you can definitely write on them just like I did here with Design ID #76452 using the Silhouette Sketch Pens. And then I cut the plywood into shapes with my scroll saw. This is a great way to customize ornaments to your style.
At the end I hung all my ornaments onto this wonderfully odd branch. And yes, I cut out those leaves on the branch with my CAMEO.
I hope I gave you some inspiration on what you can create to fit your style for the holidays. Merry Vibes, people.
