You’ve finally arrived! You have your Silhouette machine all setup and ready to go, some materials to cut, and ideas just waiting to come to life. Today, we’re going to talk about purchasing designs and the four things you need to know about Silhouette Design Store subscriptions. Let’s get to it!
There are four types of Silhouette Design Store subscriptions.
There are four general types of twelve-month subscriptions that you can purchase: Basic, Deluxe, Premium, and Diamond.
- Basic is $25.00 worth of credits, but it only costs you $9.99 a month. You read that right. You’ll get more for your money.
- Deluxe will get you $50.00 worth of credits to spend in the Design Store for $14.99 a month.
- Premium is $150.00 in credits so you can add images to your collection for $19.99 a month.
- Diamond, the top tier, buys you $250.00 worth of credits for a mere $29.99 a month
There are two ways you can purchase a subscription, too. One is to pay the premiums month to month and is ideal for you if you like to keep track of your creative expenses. But, if you’d like to save five percent on the total price, you can pay the entire yearly cost up front and pocket the extra savings for more project materials later 🙂
You can create custom subscriptions.
Not only are there four Design Store subscriptions to choose from, did you know that you can customize each of them to suit your needs? What happens if you don’t want a full year subscription, or if you don’t need $25.00 worth of credits? What if you use your machine to make money, and you need A LOT more designs?
There’s a custom plan for everyone. You can choose from a three-month, six-month, or twelve-month subscriptions. Within those time frames, you can also choose how much per month you want your premium to be with the handy slider on the subscription page inside your Silhouette Design Store account.
Pick your subscription length on the left side, and the gray bars under the prices indicate plan choices. Overall, there are twenty options from which you can choose!
If you purchase a subscription, you save money.
The main reason you would want a subscription is to save money. If you have a free account and buy each of your images one at a time using the “pay as you go” option, they usually cost $0.99 each. With a subscription plan, you can download images at a discounted price.
For example, on the twelve-month custom Basic plan above, not only are you purchasing $35.00 worth of credits for $11.99 a month, the average cost for an image drops to $0.34. The discount scales with each plan. You can even receive a discount if you set your subscription to auto-renew. Savings on savings!
Also, if you have the Deluxe subscription, and you use up all your credits, you can purchase extras for twenty-five percent off the regular price. With Premium or Diamond, the discount is fifty percent off additional designs after you use up your monthly credits.
Silhouette Design Store credits will rollover for sixty days.
If you’re like me and don’t always use up all the credits each month, you will love the rollover option. Leftover credits will automatically transfer to the next month for you to use. Pretty great, huh?
They will roll over for sixty days from the day they were issued, so you’ll have roughly two months to spend those credits. After sixty days, they expire and will disappear from your account. Remember to use them if you have them! More is always better when it comes to Design Store shapes.
Which finally brings us to how to choose which option is the best for you.
It depends on your creative style and how often you make things with your Silhouette machine. I know that once you start discovering projects, a whole world of creativity opens up. I hope you found this post helpful in choosing the subscription that will best suit your needs. If you’d like to know more about the options available, head to this page for some extra information.
