After my design was sketched, I used markers to fill in the feather design and lettering for a colorful effect.

Marie Chorak

Hello! I am Marie from Blooming Homestead and I have a passion for all things crafty, this includes home decorating, organization, digital design, DIY, and cooking yummy comfort food! As a recent first time home buyer, I enjoy making our house into a home while sticking to a budget (gotta love those student loans!) This usually requires me to think outside the box and get creative. I love sharing my tutorials and projects in hopes that I can inspire others. When I am not crafting, I like to read, shop, watch movies, and visit with family & friends. Most importantly, I love spending time with my husband of 12 years and our two children who keep us on our toes.

  1. Can’t find how to set the software to the pen it’s not listed on my list of materials as it says on the web site?

    1. Hi Shelagh! To set the software to use a sketch pen you will need to be in the “Cut Settings” menu. Once you have selected your media (cardstock, stencil material, etc.) you should see settings for the “Silhouette Ratchet Blade.” (If this isn’t displaying, click on the triangle next to the “Editing: [Chosen Material Here].”)

Click on the drop down menu next to the words “Ratchet Blade.” It will give you the different options available with your Silhouette. Under “Other” will be the option “Sketch Pen.” Remember to set your Silhouette to “No Cut” before proceeding.
