Nautical Tank

I love everything about heat transfer material. It’s precise, quick to apply, and can produce designs as simple or complex as you’d like. This time I was in a bit of a rush and needed something fast. Can you believe that I had this sailboat tank ready for my son to wear within ten minutes?!

If you’re new to working with heat transfer material or need to create something quickly, I’d suggest starting with as simple a design as possible. I chose this particular sailboat design because it didn’t have a lot of intricate pieces to weed out once cut. Silly me didn’t realize that the wavy line on the bottom of the design was actually supposed to be part of the boat design. I was in such a hurry I thought it was wavy water…oops!

I’d like to think my little mistake worked out anyway. This beachy tank is simply adorable!

If you’re in need of a speedy clothing project just remember to keep it simple. It only takes a few minutes to bring your creations to life!

  1. Love this! So simple but so cute.

    1. Thanks Rachel! Totally simple, plus I think the sailboat compliments the stripes on the shirt without being overwhelming.

  2. Hi Analisa, does the heat transfer material wash okay? I tried the printable heat transfer material and after one trip through the washing machine it came out all patchy and flaky 🙁

    1. Hmm…that’s strange that happened with your printable heat transfer. The heat transfer material washes really well for me. Just make sure to go over it with enough time and pressure when ironing it down.

      1. Thanks very much – I’ll give it a try!

  3. Cute shirt! And I totally think that little strip at the bottom looks like waves. 🙂
