Appliqued Patriotic T-Shirt | Analisa Murenin for Silhouette

Looking for a way to share your love of all things red, white, and blue? This appliqued t-shirt would be lovely for the 4th of July, but can be worn anytime you’re feeling patriotic.

To create the appliqué I used Silhouette’s cut and sew fusible fabric stabilizer and a printed bandana. When you don’t need a lot of fabric, bandanas are a great choice. They’re inexpensive, come in a variety of patterns, and you don’t have to wait in the long lines at the fabric counter! I’ll even have enough fabric leftover to make a few more appliqued t-shirts.

Iron the stabilizer to the back of the bandana, and place it on your mat to cut. Then, once the appliqué is cut simply iron it on to your t-shirt and then sew around the design to secure it in place.

One of the best things about using the cut and sew fusible fabric stabilizer is that t-shirts tend to remain soft and flexible.
