Hello friends! I think this is one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done with my Silhouette CAMEO, but also one of my favorites! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been seeing little decals you stick on your door circling around the internet (with words like ‘hello’, ‘goodbye’, and ‘welcome’) and I knew I just had to have one for myself!
Supplies you’ll need:
- your Silhouette CAMEO (or Portrait)
- Silhouette vinyl in your desired color
- a scraper tool
- transfer paper
The font I chose for this project was SW Perfect Susan and it’s the perfect curvy, cheeky font. Remember, font purchases download automatically into your computer’s fonts so, all you need to do to use it is select the text tool and type away! You’ll notice that my ‘hello’ letters have lines that cut into the other letters. For this project you don’t want those lines to be there otherwise they’ll be cut and you won’t have one nice solid cursive word.
To solve that problem, simply select the word, right click and select weld.
Next, I sized it to about 8 inches long and 3 inches high, loaded the vinyl right into my CAMEO and then hit ‘Send to Silhouette.’ Simple as that!
Then, I used the hook tool to weed out all of the vinyl pieces I didn’t need in my design, and used the transfer paper to adhere it right onto my front door. So easy!
I think this ‘hello’ door decal is such a fun and cheeky accent to my front porch and I love how well it pairs with my springy floral wreath. It definitely puts a smile on my face whenever I come home and all our house guests have commented on how they love it! Make one for yourself and bump up your curb appeal in minutes!
