St. Patrick’s Day Shirt

I’m not Irish, but that doesn’t mean we would let St. Patrick’s Day pass without a special shirt for my son. I wanted to create something fun for him to wear in March, and I came up with this rockin’ design by merging a few existing designs from the Silhouette Design Store.

To start…

  • I opened and ungrouped the “you rock” design so that I could use the guitar and the word “rock.” To do this, I right clicked and selected ungroup until all the shapes were separate.

  • Then, I deleted the extra shapes to be left with these.

  • Next, I added the word “sham” using one of my favorite script fonts. If you choose a script font, you will need to weld the letters together for a clean cut. To weld, right click on the word and select weld from the menu.

  • Finally, I added the shamrocks to the design and then reversed the image before cutting.

  • I cut the design using dark green flocked heat transfer and ironed onto a white shirt.

  • Then, I added two shamrock elbow pads for a finishing touch (of the Blarney).
