Today, I’m sharing a project using one of my favorite Silhouette tools: the pen holder! I love using them to create my own art prints and I’ve been loving watercolors lately, so I used them on this print. It’s a great projects to keep kids busy over the Holiday Break as well!
I started by putting my marker in the pen holder. I needed the large adapter to fit my marker. Then just put the pen holder into your machine like you would your blade. In Silhouette Studio, I set my page size to letter and placed the JOY shape in the center of the page. Select “sketch pens” as your material and then send to Silhouette and watch it go to work!
I used a linen coverstock paper which holds watercolors nicely.
Then I just started painting! I love that watercolors come out pretty no matter what. You don’t have to be an artist to have your watercolor art come out really pretty! Our theme is black, white and bright this year so I painted to match it.
I colored in the star/text outline with a metallic marker.
So simple and pretty and the possibilities really are endless!
