Creating fabric appliques is one of my favorite things to make using my Silhouette CAMEO. I think it add so much to a plain shirt or even a bag. I found this fox design off the Silhouette store and thought it would work great as an applique.
I used the Silhouette Brand Sewable Interfacing for this project. Once my shapes were cut I layered them on my shirt using an iron to adhere them slightly. It is very helpful to use the picture as your reference when layering.
I stitched around the entire applique using a straight stitch. Just know your project could lift on the edges using a straight stitch. I would suggest using a zig zag stitch if you do not want any frayed edges or lifting. If you are a little worried your straight stitch won’t come out very straight then opt for the zig zag. The zig zag stitch around the design is a little more forgiving.
That’s it! It is pretty easy once you get the hang of sewing around the design. The total time of this project took me about an hour. A great project to try in an afternoon!
