Ah, friends there are so many possibilities with this week’s free shape! Have you downloaded it yet? Hand painted words are super trendy right now in both scrapbooking and home decor, a trend that I’m loving, but truthfully NO good at. Thank you cut files for helping my projects look better than I could ever do on my own. 🙂 I used the new shape to create this fun, days of the week mousepad.
To create your own, gather the following supplies :
- Silhouette Cameo® or Silhouette Portrait® cutting tool
- Silhouette smooth white heat transfer
- FREE Shape of the week
- mouse pad
- scrap of fabric
- hook tool
First, measure your mousepad and draw a basic shape in Silhouette studio with the same dimensions. Then open the shape, ungroup, resize and arrange the words however you’d like within that shape. Next, because you are working with heat transfer you’ll need to select the words, right click and select flip horizontally. Load the heat transfer shiny side down into your Silhouette, select heat transfer from the cut settings menu and click cut. Once it’s cut out, use the hook tool to week out all of the unwanted heat transfer, flip it over on top of the mouse pad, clear plastic side up, cover with a scrap of fabric and press with hot iron. Carefully remove the plastic and you’re done! Super simple, fantastic results.
