Printable Holiday Gift Tags

Nothing says you care like a custom gift tag.

This shape is designed as a regular cut shape, but for quick duplicating purposes I opted to turn it into a printable shape instead. {here’s a great tutorial for turning regular cut shapes into print/cut shapes}

Once I print/cut out my tags they were looking a little flat. So, to add dimension I used a distressing sponge and ink to add some color to the edges. The ink distressing gave it a nice vintage  look.

Then, I added a 3d paper bow. Tiny, perfect!

  1. There are some Tuesdays when my mouth just drops open and I think – they’re giving this shape away? I’m in love with the sled and the greenery! And I love what you did with it. Funny that i thought immediately I’d like to make gift tags with this great free shape. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks so much!

  2. Love the kind of “vintage-y” look of this! So cute!

  3. What’s in that bag!??!?? Cute, but…

    1. Cinnamon glazed almonds and pecans.

  4. So festive! I love this freebie, and the tag is beautiful! (The almonds look pretty delicious, too.) 😉

  5. Beautiful tag!! Love the pop of the red bow against the kraft paper!

  6. That is so pretty. One question…how big would you make the sleigh/tag and what tag was used?

  7. I found what tag was used. I’m new at this and can’t wait to try this out.

  8. So cute!! Love the free shape on the tag as a print file! And the distressing added just the right touch!

  9. Adorable! I’m pretty sure my presents will be bearing this tag!

  10. That looks great! I always forget that we can print and cut on other-than-white cardstock. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration!

  11. WHAT! You can change a regular cut shape to a print and cut shape? Oh for sure… I am upgrading to a Cameo now from my old/first version Silhouette machine. Thank you for the great idea and the early Christmas present to me. I am off to your store!

    1. Lori,

I have the silhouette sd. All you do is fill the shape with whatever color you want, assemble it correctly, add the registration marks and voila!!! You print it then feed it through your machine 🙂

  12. I like this! What printer type do you use?

  13. I love using the blog posts to help me learn about my machine and the software. I’m a bit stuck at how you got the text like it is, with the cardstock showing through. How did you do that, or what feature in the software did you use to create that split?

    1. I used the offset feature and filled it with white to get the spacing around the text.

  14. Thanks, Jeana G! I got that to work just fine and I have printed a 12×12 page of the tags. Unfortunately when I cut them, the cuts were horrible. In the cut style window the edge of the tag and the circle are the only things set to cut, but when I actually cut it, most of the tags cut incomplete or didn’t line up with the sled. Any ideas?

  15. The odd thing is, the circles for the tags are in the right spot, but the tags did NOT cut out correctly. They look fine to me in SSDEdition.

  16. This is so cute! I can’t wait to make them. Thanks for the free file

  17. Love the distressed look!

Can you tell me what fonts were used for the Season’s Greetings?
