Party Favor Tag

One of my favorite aspects of any party is the party favor. Your guests will love to take a little something special home with them as a “thank you” for attending your party. A very simple, yet equally as beautiful favor is a jar filled with candy! This can also double as a decoration at your event. Purchase a clear glass jar or container at your favorite craft store. Select a candy that matches your theme. Don’t be afraid to be creative. You could select the same color of candy or even layer different colors to give it a unique touch.

Hero Arts has these beautiful, yet very versatile word tags. They are the perfect addition to any party favor or gift. Don’t forget to cut a bunch depending on how many favors you need.

Start off by opening up your word tags in Silhouette Studio. Then click the ungroup icon located at the bottom left hand corner of your screen. This process may need to be repeated to ungroup all of your items.

I used the “for You” tag as my base and the “with Love” tag as an overlay. Once you’ve ungrouped the tags, you can further modify the tag by releasing the compound path and deleting the words “for” and “you.”

Next, I resized both of these tags to a height of 3.5″ tall. This was a great height for my jar, but you can change the size to something that will look proportional with your party favor. Make sure that they are both the same height and width if you are planning on overlaying them!

Once I had everything looking perfect, I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut out the “kraft” card stock. I cut one of each so that I could make two sets of tags. Then I cut my red card stock and layered it on top of the kraft card stock. I used a little bit of adhesive to adhere them together, but you could easily use adhesive card stock too.

I’m also planning on cutting more of these so I can have several sets on hand for last minute gifts too. These candy jar favors would be perfect for the holidays to give to neighbors or co-workers. Feel free to get creative with this project and have fun!
