Free Shape of the Week :: Heart Envelope with Card

Happy FREE Shape Tuesday! I used the cute heart envelope from this week’s shape along with some of the fonts on my computer to create a tiny ‘love note’…

To make the I & U for the inside, I used the bebas font, and to make sure that they were the perfect size to fit in the finished envelope I used the envelope shape as a guide.
The heart for the inside of the card is actually the same heart shape as the envelope, with a couple of minor changes. I duplicated the envelope shape, ungrouped it and deleted the perforated lines. Then I used the bounding box to skew the heart so it was more tall and thin to ‘match’ the look of the letters, and to also fit nicely inside the envelope.
Then, to assemble the note, I adhered one end of the twine inside the envelope, then adhered all of the shapes and letters to the twine, leaving about 1/2 inch between each one.
After all of the glue was dry, I accordion folded the shapes into a small stack in the middle of the envelope, folded in both sides along the perforated lines, put a little adhesive on each flap, then folded up the bottom to adhere.
Voila! Fun little interactive note.
I made mine a love note, but I think the same concept would be fun with other words like thanks, hello, or congrats too!
I hope you’ll create something fun with your new shape! {and share it! :) }
Have a great day!

      I used glossy accents which is often my adhesive of choice.
