Print & Cut Framed Art

The print and cut feature of the Silhouette is one of my favorites. I like being able to play around with the colors in Silhouette studio to get the exact look I want for my project. But even better than to just be able to print a shape in any color I want, I can also use my CAMEO to dress up those print and cuts. I’ll use today’s project to show you what I mean…

I am loving the flower swag and wreath trend thats popular right now, especially in watercolor.  I decided to use that trend as inspiration for this printable. Watercolors aren’t my specialty, but with the great floral swag shape from the Silhouette online store and the fill color window in Silhouette studio I was able to create something similar, which I really like!

After filling the shape with color and adding the quote, I printed it out and popped it into a frame.

But as you can see, as with most printables, it’s just a little bit flat. Sometimes I don’t mind that at all, but this little printable just had more potential!

The nice thing about having designed it in Silhouette studio is that I could use the same shapes I printed to also cut with my CAMEO and layer right on top of the printable to give it dimension. A few of the shapes cut out of cardstock or gold foil along with an enamel dot or two dressed it up nicely I think.

Do you create your own print/cuts? Next time you do, I hope you will give this little technique a try! 🙂
