Gold Foil Card Set

Hi there crafty friends! Have you ever been asked by a friend or family member to whip up a card for a shower, or wedding reception you are going to right this minute, and think ‘I’m pretty good, but I’m not THAT good!’? I’ve been put in that spot quite a bit it lately, and though I am always happy to do it, I don’t want to give them something that looks like it was thrown together at the last minute. So I’ve been on a quest to find a few ‘go to’ shapes so that when it’s crunch time, I can just pull something together quickly without making it look like that is what happened. Know what I mean? ย Well, I found a few gems in the Silhouette online store that were just what I was looking for, so today I thought I’d pass my findings on to you! I used them to create today’s project, a gold foil card set…

Let’s chat about the shapes…

The first one I found was a set of speech bubbles. They are great for card sentiments, and with the variety of words they will work for all different occasions. ย I kind of love them cut out of the gold foil, because then they are just peel and stick!

Next is a card set. It’s name is ‘teeny tiny card kit’, and for good reason. The finished cards and envelopes are just a little bigger than 2″ square. Something to keep in mind though is that you aren’t limited to the default size. You can use the bounding box and enlarge it to whatever size you choose. Just be sure to keep the shape grouped together when enlarging so that the envelopes get bigger too.

What I like most about this one is that the shape includes all of the basic card essentials: a folded card, a flat card and two different styles of envelopes. {and did I mention they are tiny? what’s not to love? ๐Ÿ™‚ } If you are feeling adventurous, you can also use some of the basic shapes in your library to add a pattern to one side and make them a print and cut like I did here…

Then, when you decide that you love the little cards you’ve made so much that you want to give them away as a gift, there is a great little drawer box that you can resize to fit a bit of coordinating twine and a few mini clothes pins to go along with the cards. A great little gift for a paper loving friend!

I hope you’ll find these shapes as useful as I have! Thanks for dropping by today!

Also if you click the link they provide here in the blog when you get to the page with the display on their online store right below you will also see the other bundles they offer…hope that makes sense and hope you find them ๐Ÿ™‚
