Chalkboard Vinyl Wall Calendar

Chalkboard Vinyl Wall Calendar

Happy Monday and welcome to organization week!  ‘Tis the season for spring cleaning, and organization fits in there somewhere too, right? Over the weekend I was working on a couple of projects at home that I wanted to share here on the blog this week. They are simple ways the Silhouette helps me to get/stay organized.

The first one, though super easy, is going to make a big difference for me. It is a wall calendar cut out of Silhouette Chalkboard Vinyl. I have calendars on my computer, and on my phone, but I think there is something to be said for being able to see what I have going on during the week, at a glance, each time I’m in my craft/office space. I can’t miss it, and have no excuses. I like that about it.

My calendar was created using only the text tool and basic shapes in Silhouette studio, but there are some fun artisan shapes in the Silhouette online store that would look cute as well.

To write on the chalkboard bubbles I like to use chalk markers, but regular chalk works well too. They both wipe off easily with a damp paper towel.
Because you get to design your own, you can easily customize this calendar for you and your family’s needs. You could just add Saturday and Sunday, make a whole month, or so that everyone in the family is on the same page, you could also have a row for each member of the family.

  1. That’s a cool idea! I like it a lot!

  2. Cool project.

  3. Cute font!! Which one did you use for the “happening this week…” ?

    1. The font is Learning Curve.

    2. Jeana
Is that font only available in the design edition? I couldn’t find it in the standerd version.

    3. Hi Elise, the fonts that show in your Silhouette studio are from those that were already on your computer, so everyone’s list of fonts will be different. If you do a google search you should be able to find this font as a free download. Once you’ve downloaded it to your computer, restart Silhouette studio and you should see it in your list of fonts. 🙂 Hope this helps!

  4. Where do you find chalkboard markers at? I could think of a whole lot of different ideas for this style of project!

    1. Hi Karen, I got mine from Hobby Lobby, but have seen them at other craft stores too.

  5. Interesting!(^^v

  6. Brilliant idea 🙂

  7. Great idea! I finally opened my package of chalkboard vinyl a week ago, and now we’re happily keeping track of a family goal with tally marks using a chalkboard marker (bought on Amazon). It’s good stuff. 🙂

  8. never thought of that- love it

  9. I love the chalkboard vinyl, but the online store has been out of it for months! Do you know when they may restock it?

  10. Hi 🙂

So I made this calendar at home and it was SUPER cute! I absolutely love my calendar! I was wondering if it would be okay with you if I used these pictures in my Etsy shop? I would love to be able to share this fabulous calendar with the world! 🙂
I just ask because I am not very savvy with my camera and the pictures I took do not look as good as yours!

    Many thanks!!
