Happy 5th day of Christmas! Here is a quick, fun neighbor gift idea using today's free shape.
To create a cocoa snowman... First, fill 3 jars with hot cocoa, marshmallows and crushed peppermints. Then, stack them on top of one another, using small dots of hot glue to keep them in place. Cut the top hat and snowman shapes out of paper {vinyl works great for the face and buttons too!} assemble, and adhere them to the jars.
Then, for his arms, hot glue a couple of twigs to either side of the middle jar. Lastly, the scarf... I used a piece of felt that I cut to 3/4" wide and 20" long, tied in a knot between the top and middle jar. Then I clipped the ends to get the fringe. If you don't have felt on hand, a piece of wide ribbon or any old fabric will do as well.
Have a great day everyone!

What a cute gift

ReplyDeleteSo cute... Thanks sil gang. I think all of my little trees scattered around my house might have "Top Hat Toppers" on them this year!!! They will look very dapper!!!
ReplyDeletewhere do you find jars that size???
ReplyDeleteThey came from Hobby Lobby, but I've seen them in the canning section at wal mart and other grocery stores too. Hope that helps :)
DeleteBall Canning also makes them, they should be in the canning section of your local supermarket or supercenter, or at www.freshpreserving.com. They are the half-pint (8 oz.) jar.
ReplyDeleteSuper Cute! Your 12 days of Christmas rocks.

ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Thanks for inspiring my last minute gift idea for school office staff!
ReplyDeleteJust did this and can't wait to give them as gifts! They turned out sooo cute :)!!! I used the printable sticker paper for the face.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to make these and my silhouette isn't cutting out the smaller circles for eyes or buttons. Why is that? It's really cute. This is the first time I haven't had a design that hasn't worked so I'm not sure what to do.
ReplyDeleteWow! I have those jars and don't like canning with them so now I have a project for next Christmas and can use them. I don't have a cutter yet but will by next Christmas for sure. I think I'll just use real buttons for now, I've got to make one even tho' Christmas is over.
