FREE Shape of the Week :: 3d Tree

Happy FREE Shape Tuesday, friends! Isn’t this little tree cute? I used the largest of the shapes to create a snow globe. {sans water}
To assemble the tree, accordion fold along the perforated lines, apply glue to the bottom and adhere to the plain circle. After assembly, I glued mine to the inside of a jar lid and added some faux snow to create the snow globe.  I think I might use this in my gift wrapping this year too, added to the top of a small round gift box. Adorable.
For a completely different look with a little more dimension, the shape also includes other sizes so you can layer them on top of each other.
Enjoy your new shape… and thanks for stopping by!

The snow globe is cute but WHAT is the font you used for “Snow Globe”????

  4. Andrea Mette says:

What did you use for the star on top? And how did you make the banner and what did you use to do so??? Would love to make the exact same thing.

      Hi Andrea,

The star shape is linked at the bottom of the post and is cut out of cardstock. The banner was made using the print/cut. I welded two triangles together to make a diamond shape and then filled it with color. Then I added the text, printed them out on cardstock and then cut them. {here’s a diy print and cut tutorial for reference if needed : http://blog.silhouetteamerica.com/2012/06/reading-corner-series-print-and-cut.html} After they were cut out I folded them and glued them onto a piece of thread. Hope this helps :)

    2. Andrea Mette says:

What size was the star cut at? Also, for the banner – can I just download a basic triangle shape and then follow the tutorial you attached? What size triangle did you make? What was the font on the banner and what size is the font?

      Sorry for all the questions!

    3. jeana says:

No worries, the star is about 3/4 inch. Yes, you can even download a banner shape and then resize it to about 1/2 tall. I rarely look at my font size, or I could tell you more specifically. I just resize it until it fits nicely inside the shape so you might have to play around with it a little until you get the look you want. The font I used is Bebas.

I was hoping to see the answer to this, but since I don’t here’s one more question: The banner is on a thread…and the thread is attached to what??? And how is it attached????
(OK, so that’s technically two questions…sorry!)

    1. Stacy says:

      I’m wondering this as well.

    2. jeana says:

The banner is attached to the front of the jar with glue dots.

  12. This is adorable!
