Featured Artist Series :: Simple Craft Night Project

This week’s featured artist is Alaa’ K.
I used this reindeer shape from Alaa’ K’s  portfolio to create this simple, sparkly reindeer. It’s the perfect craft night project. Just grab your Silhouette Portrait, {have you seen it? It’s adorable for one, but more impressive is that it does everything the CAMEO does, only with a smaller cutting space and for smaller price. They are also lightweight which makes them perfect for taking to craft night!}, double sided adhesive, glitter, a rhinestone, patterned paper and you are ready to get started.
You’ll notice when you open the shape that it was designed as a print and cut.
At a craft night you won’t always have access to a printer so this next step comes in handy… Instead of printing the shape I ungrouped it and deleted all but one of the cut lines and was left with this adorable silhouette of a deer. If you keep this little tid bit in mind, it will make print and cut shapes super versatile!
Using the instructions on the packaging I cut the reindeer out of double sided adhesive, adhered it to my piece of snowflake paper and covered him with glitter. Then I added a little red rhinestone for his nose and popped it into my frame.
Voila… cute little project that you can finish in a short time and be able to spend the rest of craft night chatting, eating, laughing and ooohhhing and awwwwing over everyone else’s projects.
p.s there are TONS of darling shapes in Alaa’ K’s portfolio… take a minute to check them out here
Before I go, here is the winner of the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Giveaway…..

“Already a follower! I have been thinking recently of how thankful I am to have a wonderful group of girlfriends who encourage each other, edify each other, laugh together, and craft together! In the Mom of Toddler phase of life, there is strength in numbers! I am blessed to have a fabulous husband, but girlfriends are priceless, too. “
Congratulations Laura! Please email your contact information to blog@silhouetteamerica.com.
Thanks to everyone who entered, it was fun to read all of your “thankful for…”s!
