By now you all know the magic that can be made using the fabric inks. You can layer, you can mix colors to create new ones, clean up is a breeze and your end result looks professional! This was a fun project that I created using a plain hat from Walmart. I customized it using my sons name and a few other shapes. I am quite happy with the end result.
Our sweet sales guy TJ was kind enough to model this cap for me and I do think it looks quite handsome on him. Big shout out TeeJ! What a good sport, wearing my boys name! Haha! Submit your creations to the flickr group, I love to see what you come up with! Its all about the inspiration right??

Along with the pattern theme this week I thought you might like a free one! I always love a good newsprint paper. I think it is always great as a neutral for any project...so here is one you can use with any project! I filled this darling heart card with the pattern and then cut it out! Of course I added the typewriter and a little text and *BAM* a gorgeous sentiment was created. Enjoy!

More fabric ink love
August 25, 2011
I am absoluelty in love with this next project. First off the sweet Dresden is modeling it and she look soooo cute second it just turned out darn good! Ill take one please! You can literally transform anything into something amazing using the new fabric inks.
I created the grunge effect using the sponge that comes with the kit and lightly dabbing it over the stencil. You can make it as grungy as you want or fill it in for a bold effect. Either way you are going to love the end result!

Well my kiddos are back in school and they are so happy to be back. Not to mention the Momma is so happy too! They finally have something to do! Yippee! I loved hearing all the first day of school stories and new people they have met. My oldest was excited to see that the same people she loved last year were still hanging around, not to mention the little boy she affectionately named "Fuzzy" last year ( apparently he wore a fuzzy coat she loved)..poor guy hes stuck with that nickname for life. No one calls him by name anymore...gotta love it!
Ok that was a little tangent...did I mention SCHOOLS BACK IN SESSION! Love to all my school teacher friends!

Tutorial: Heat Transfer
August 22, 2011
Today's tutorial is another view on how to create heat transfer projects. You will see how simple and easy it is. Choose the design you want to cut out on your heat transfer. Make sure you mirror it so when you iron it, it will be ironed the right direction.
Then place your heat transfer in your silhouette shiny side down (this is the liner).
Then click on the send to silhouette link. Weed the excess heat transfer away from the design, now you are ready to iron.
Place your design down on to your project and iron. Make sure you apply pressure for 45 seconds and then move to the next spot on your design and repeat.
Now you have a perfect little shirt. If you thought this looked like fun pick up the Heat Transfer Starter Kit and try it out for yourself!!! This shape is only available in the kit!

I absolutely fell in love with this project. First that little guy is absolutely precious. Second, what a cute little saying and idea. I swear I am totally the girl that sees a commercial with a puppy or little baby and I melt. I don't know what it is, I just have a soft spot for sweet little things!

Back to School!
August 17, 2011
School is either already in session or is quickly approaching and that means back to school supplies are in order. I customized this lunch pack using our premium vinyl. I figured if it can stand outside, surely it can handle a little elementary school beating...actually now that I am typing that out maybe it wont *wink* kids can always find a way. Hahaha. Enjoy the inspiration and I hope you have a great hump day! See you tomorrow!

There was a request for plant picks in our user suggestions and i thought they would be a great addition to a little plant for our new teachers! I mod podged the plant pick so that it could withstand a little moisture from the soil...at least until the teacher can get her hands on it!
Good luck on all your crafty endeavors this school year!

Tutorial: Rhinestones
August 15, 2011
For some of you this may be a tutorial you have seen before, but I want to share it again for all the newbies out there. It is so fun to create projects using the rhinestone. Many of you don't understand how the silhouette relates to the rhinestones, so I am going to show you how!
Of course start with the shape you are going to cut out and then load your rhinestone template material on the cutting mat and load it in the machine. As usual choose the correct setting, in this case you need to choose the rhinestone template material preset. Then send it to the Silhouette and cut it out!
The next step is to peel away the template material from the backing. All the little circles that were cut out will stay on the backing. Pop out any strays and then place down onto the backer board in the kit.
Now you are ready for the fun part. Pour in your rhinestones and using the brush spread them around. I have found that with a firm "smear" the rhinestone go into place. Now, something you must know, is that the backer board is not sticky so the rhinestones are simply going into place. Brush away the excess rhinestones and using the pick-me-up tool you can fill in any little spaces with the extra rhinestones.
Your next step is to place the transfer tape on top of the rhinestone design. Just go for it! Slap it down! Smooth it down so you make sure it touches the tops of all the rhinestones.
The next step is easy, just apply heat. Using an ironing cloth or any old piece of cotton fabric you have lying around press the rhinestones for no more that 45 seconds. Its super fast!
Peel away the transfer tape to reveal the design.
One last step for good measure. Turn your project inside out if it is clothing and iron the area where the rhinestones are. This will give it a great bond.
Here's the big reveal. A gorgeous shirt worthy of any little diva! This shape is available in the Rhinestone starter kit only. I hope you have a great day blinging up everything in site! *wink*

Feeling Happy and TGIF!!!
August 12, 2011
Do you ever get in that mood that feels free and exciting. You cant quite put your finger on why your mood is so carefree? I love this photo of my besties daughter. She looks so perfect, so sweet, and so full of wonder. I love all the details my Silhouette can cut out. I never feel like I have to run out and find the perfect title stickers or accessories. I can always find something great in my stock pile of paper and of course the fonts on my computer and the great shapes in the online store. I also love that I can load up my mat with various colors of paper and cut a bunch of things out at one time.
It made cutting the banners out super fast and of course I always love choosing my own fonts! I hope you all have a great Friday and an amazing weekend!

Transform your projects.
August 11, 2011
I have been focusing a lot on our fabric ink, for some you may be tired of it, but I am so happy we have more options for our crafters! You can transform just about any average every day item with them. I purchased this plain canvas bag from walmart. I wanted a beach bag that I didn't feel bad about abusing *wink*...because we all know kids aren't easy on any bag.
So of course I mixed a few colors to get a great navy blue and used the brown straight from the bottle, it matched the leather accents perfectly. I created the design by measuring the space I wanted to paint. Then by welding and dividing I combined shapes to create the design you see. I am super excited with how it turned out and think it is a great bag to tote around!

I love me a drive by!
August 10, 2011
Sometimes a simple card is just the ticket. I know often we don't have time in our lives to be elaborate and cutsie...but its still about the thought. Maybe a simple card and sneaky drop off is all that is needed. I know at times if I'm not feeling well I don't want to sit and chat, but having someone recognize I am not my usual self and sending a little love is always good for my heart *BIG Smile*
Here is a quick easy idea for your next drive by *wink*!

As we are all getting ready to start the school process again, I thought you might like a little goodie box to send with your children to school. This could be a fun goodie box for their first day of school or it could be a great gift for their teacher. Either way...you gotta love a good box you can put together in no time flat!

Tutorial: Vinyl
August 8, 2011
Insert vinyl into your Silhouette and cut the design from your Silhouette Studio Software.
The next step is to place the transfer paper on top of the vinyl design and using the scraper smooth the transfer paper onto the vinyl.
Peel away the transfer paper and you will see that the vinyl is stuck to it. You can then place your vinyl/transfer paper media onto your project.
Again using the scraper tool and smooth onto your project. In this case I am making a home decor plaque so I will be adhering it to a wooden board I have covered in paper and mod podged. Peel away the transfer paper to reveal your design.
Here is the final project all finished and purty!
