Hi Traci,
ReplyDeleteWill the Cameo also be able to cut thicker media?
I will be having a Silhouette Cameo Christmas this year. I have been waiting for the 12" cutting capability for several years. Thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteWill the Cameo be able to cut different media?
ReplyDeleteWay to go Silhouette! So many of your customers (and hopeful cusomters) are so excited with this announcement. I've been reading about this on several message boards already! Can't wait to get my hands on the Cameo.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the great new products! I am loving several of them and cannot wait to order when available. The Cameo will be on my holiday gift wish list for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm asking for the Cameo this year - this is too exciting. The fabric inks look great, too!
ReplyDeleteOOooooo I need! LOL
ReplyDeleteSo here is the 10,000 $ question: Will the Cameo be shipping to Europa as well by the Hollidays? Or do us Europeans have to wait years to get our greasy hands on it?
ReplyDeleteI told my friend last week that the one thing that could make a Silhouette better is if it cut 12 inches and this week you announce the cameo! I usually don't have to have all the newest gadgets, but this will be a must have!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen will the Fabric Ink starter kit be available! Please!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, cancel that last comment. I went to the shop, and it is available now. (I ordered it! And the fabric interfacing that I wanted to try.
ReplyDeleteI guess now is a good time to upgrade my wish list to the Cameo!
ReplyDeleteAh! I'm crying just a tiny bit that I just bought my SD a couple of months ago. I would LOVE the 12 inch machine. So fun!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to do a tutorial on that fabulous chalkboard vinyl calendar? Pretty please?
ReplyDeleteI really want to get the heat transfer and the vinyl starter kits! I have been wanting to try both, but could never decide what colors to buy!
ReplyDeleteWooohooo! Finally, can cut 12" pages! Can't wait, it will be the first thing I get my hands on this holiday season!!!
ReplyDeleteWish the cameo was out when I upgraded to the Sil SD last winter... Lots of other yummy goodies though!
ReplyDeleteWondering if the Cameo will have more blade pressure for thicker materials....
ReplyDeleteI'll just have to wait for my Silhouette to die before investing in the Cameo. I don't know how long that will be since I just got mine in November. I, too, want to know of the Cameo will cut thicker media. That's the only thing I don't like about the Silhouette.

Love the new larger size machine and fabby new accessories!
ReplyDeleteI was going to get the SD next month, but it looks like this girl will be waiting for her Cameo!
ReplyDeleteThe Cameo is on my Christmas wish list! Where is the best place to get all the info on the Cameo? I've been hearing all kinds of rumors and I want answers. Will it cut any different materials than the SD? Is the blade housing still the same so we can use our current blades on the Cameo? Is the SD being discontinued? Does it still use an SD card to be able to take without a computer to crops?
ReplyDeleteLOVE the chalkboard calendar...a tutorial would really make me smile :) Thanks for the sneak peak! Smiles~Beth
ReplyDeletewoo hoo!! Loving seeing this company GROW!!! When i looked at the show pics of the booth, something popped into my head. Apple!!! Silhouette is the Apple of digital die cutting machines!!! Sleek, cool, hip!. Just like my iPhone and mac computers!! Remember...you heard it here first! :) LOL!
ReplyDeleteI wish I worked for Silhouette so I didn't have to wait for the Cameo...
ReplyDeleteYes finally, cant wait for this to come to the UK. I'm glad I waited.
ReplyDeletedawnaclark I like the way you think!
ReplyDelete:( :( Super sad.... I just bought my SD last month ... there is no way I can splurge and get the cameo now!! Wish I had known that it was coming, I would have waited.

Dang I just bought the SD last month. Should have waited : (
ReplyDeleteJUST got the SD a few days ago for a birthday gift. Now I'm wondering how long before the 9" rolls and accessories will be discontinued, and I'm forced to get the bigger one. ??
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, new SD owners! Your machine is still amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI was super worried that my new Sil SD was now out to pasture, but I just got this reply from Sil-America's nice costomer support....
ReplyDeleteHello,
While the Silhouette SD will soon be replaced by the newer Silhouette Cameo model offered from our company, we have no plans to discontinue support for the original Silhouette or Silhouette SD. We will continue to offer supplies for these units (such as compatible blades, mats, etc). Only the actual cutting unit itself will be replaced by the newer Silhouette Cameo model.
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Thanks!

Hello fellow "sil"ers... I absolutely agree with Kelly... The SD is a fabulous machine... I have made numerous borders to fit a 12" page with my sil. One way is to cut two lengths of your border and hide the seam under a picture or embellishment. A second way is to turn your image so that it sits on the diagonal across the page. Corner to Corner of an 11.5" page is almost 13.5".
ReplyDeleteI'm certain the cameo is a great machine also, but don't fret over not having one yet...
Enjoy your sil, or as I like to refer to it as "My amazing crafting machine!!!"
I too JUST bought my Silhouette SD too - and so I'm really happy/sad with this announcement for I am sure I would have waited as well. Ah well, such is life. I DO totally completely and absolutely LOVE my Sil - going crazy making things. I would LOVE any advice, ideas, tips, tutorials etc you might share (grovel grovel!) This newbie is excited and eager to share.

I see these girls on different blogs that you send them a machine and they use it and demo and they sometimes give another one away. How does one get to do that?
ReplyDeleteThank you.. Joy
I would really love to see a tutorial for the chalkboard as well! It's gorgeous and I really need to redo my tacky dry erase one very soon.
ReplyDeleteI was just wishing this week that my Silhouette SD would cut 12" paper, and now I'm itching to get my hands on the Cameo. I'll just keep wishing and LOVING my SD for now!
Awesome! I sent an email awhile back suggesting the creation of chalkboard vinyl... I'm so glad you guys figured out how to do it! That's going to be so fun.
ReplyDeleteI've been searching for a good machine that compatible with our Mac without buying extra software, and someone suggested me to check on Silhouette. So I told my husband about it and he has been planning to get me one.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby "almost got" the Silhouette SD for me at Amazon.com on the day you announced the CAMEO... but the transaction didn't get through... few minutes later I checked on your blog and I SAW THE ANNOUNCEMENT! That's a good thing, right? :D
I would like to know when I can buy the CAMEO?
What are the main differences with the SD (beside can cut larger pages)?
I know I WILL HAVE SO MUCH FUN with CAMEO!
I am in excited heaven! I've forwarded your site to DH with the note: dear Santa, this is my toyshop. I NEED it all! Seriously, the Cameo looks awesome, but please let us know what it's specs are. I am particularily interested in the fabric inking. I can't wait for the "teasers" to become more. Have loved you all for years, and you keep me coming back!
ReplyDeleteJust to answer a few of your questions: The CAMEO has a stronger motor and will be able to cut out different types of media, however, we do not have a full list of what that will be yet so stay tuned. You will also be able to purchase the CAMEO just in time for the holidays. When we have more info, of course we will share it with you all!
ReplyDeleteWe will also continue to carry the products that support the Silhouette as well as customer support.
Thanks!
I'm really GLAD to read that you will continue to support the Silhouette SD and sell all its related supplies. Thank you for that!
ReplyDeletePlease, PlEaSe, PLEASE!!!...a tutorial for the chalkboard calendar. please.
ReplyDeleteI think you should do a contest that is open to original silhouette owners only--you know as an opportunity to upgrade to a cameo. We are the ones who believed in you right from the beginning when you were teeny tiny and BOUGHT! :) Been using mine for 3-4 years now...
ReplyDeleteI would like to know if the cameo will use SD cards. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Wow! How soon is "just in time for the Holidays"? I mean we can make it National Sil day this Friday, and then start our ordering if you like....
ReplyDeleteThis by far was my favorite booth at CHA this year :) I can't wait till the Cameo is ready to play with!

Oh! Really looking forward to try the new starter kits!
ReplyDeleteIs Silhouette America still selling the chalkboard vinyl?
ReplyDeleteI have a silhouette cameo and love it.The only trouble I am having is my cutting mat the backing of my vinyl is sticking to it and it takes me for ever to get it off. can anyone tell me how to stop this. It is a real pain.Any sugestions would help. thanks Anna
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me why the Cameo costs nearly twice as much in the UK as it does in the States? £299 compared with $299!
I have a relative who visits her daughter in the states quite regularly, so could ask her to bring a US one back for me. BUT would it be compatible with my UK computer?
I would be grateful if replies could be given in VERY non-technical jargon - thanks
Lynn
