Gift Idea: Mothers Day decor

"Someday you will feel a small weight against your strong back."
"Someday I will watch you brushing your child's hair."
"Someday,  a long time from now, your own hair will glow silver in the sun."
"And when that day comes, love, you will remember me."
Mcghee & Reynolds

Their is something so special about theses words.  I imagine I will look back on my life as I have aged and watched those around me grow and remember the sweet days of my life.  I found this picture a few years back of my mother cleaning my hands.  The photo was faded and aged, my hair is no longer that sweet baby white and new experiences have changed my dreams from my youth, but her hands are still the same.  The same ones I remember as a child and the ones I see as she holds my children.  I am sure I will look back and remember.  Happy Mothers Day to all of you who help raise our children.  I am so thankful for the women who raised me and of course to my sweet Mother.

  1. You really like that book don't you? :)

It's okay, I just got it this year and I love it! I had to work really hard not to cry when reading it to my first grade students. :)

Blessed are the Mother's and their children...

  3. Oh, I love this project! I wish I had a picture of my mom's hands to preserve forever. Not too late, I guess. I should just have her pose for me next month when I see her.

P.S. The tote is beautiful! Several of my Silhouette friends have already ordered theirs.

  4. I can't wait for my tote to arrive! The second I received the email notice, I ordered. I would like to think I was part of getting a tote for our Silhouettes, since a couple of months ago I asked support if they had one! It looks better than I imagined, with room for my laptop, that I specifically got to take cropping!!!

  6. I love your project, Traci. I lost my mother 18 years ago and my mother-in-law 27 years ago. They were both pretty young when they passed. Mother's Day is a good day for me to just sit and remember the years I had with them.

I love the tote. Can't wait to get mine. I never dreamed of having a tote to carry my Silhouette and my laptop. Thank you, Silhouette America, for making the tote fit the 17" laptop.

    Happy Mother's Day!!
