Darling Onesie

Cute little fabric onesies are all the rage right now in tiny baby couture and honestly I just can't get enough of them.  There is just something so sweet about a  sweet little baby and a funky animal stitched on a simple shaped onesie.  *Squeal* Oooh it makes me want to snuggle my sis-n-laws new little one!

Now the Silhouette makes it easy for you to design and create a few for your own little ones or anyone you may know, because lets face it its always fun to give a gift to a baby even if its not yours.  Here i took shape: animal_slow_woodland_turtle_C00863_19210 and used the outline as the base layer and the fun cutout shape as my top layer.  Because you can iron it on to your projects you can easily place and start stitching without the need of pins!  Seriously, the pins are half the battle sometimes.  From there I stitched the turtle to the onesie.  I love the little frayed edges that are created when you leave the raw fabric edge exposed.

Try out this new technique using our new fabric interfacing, I promise it will be sure to impress anyone who receives it.

  6. very cute Traci... I agree, the fraying is like inking the edges on a card... It adds so much more to the project. I do believe there are going to be a lot more fabulously dressed babies since this interfacing launch...

  8. Awesome! I've made a few onesies for our little girl who should be making her appearance in the next few weeks! I've also made some for my cousin who is expecting, with jungle animals to match her son's nursery. Such a wonderful way to make darling personalized gifts!

  10. Very cute. I like to embellish onesies to put into gift baskets for the Operation Homefront program. Baby gift baskets, full of items for new babies, are given to woman who deliver when their husband is off at war.
