Ever since my little man was born I have fallen in love with all the darling boy clothing. I’m all about the clothing that looks like a tiny man could wear. Some of my favorites have chevron patterns on them…which is why I LOVE this zigzag chevron style background pattern and its in clearance this week…Yippee!
I did something a little different with this card. I started by cutting a piece of cardstock down to a 5×10 and folded it in half to create my card base (then I inked it…surprised huh?). I then cut the chevron pattern with the same color and used an embossing pad to cover the pattern, poured on my navy embossing powder and brushed a little off. When I heated the powder the brushed off embossing powder left empty spaces that allowed me to ink up and give it a distressed look.
From this point I added my embellishments. I placed a strip of navy and a strip of green towards the bottom and added 2 black brads on either side. Then I cut out the splatter shape in aqua and adhered it the bottom left side. Using kraft and navy paper I cut out the boys will be boys shape. Last but not least I used the regular cut monster shape and turned it into a custom print and cut using my fill options. I matted it on kraft paper and for a few final details I cut the hair using our blue flocked heat transfer and two more black brads for the eyes. So many textures…sooo yummy!
This card is all boy…a little rough and tumble, but super cute!
